Drums of Change
Charles
Barnett
Born and Raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma
High School Graduate of Booker T. Washington High School in
1970
The
war drum or "Djembe" was a part of his heritage
from birth, but his days on the road started back in the early
70's in Oklahoma City, with 6 time Grammy Award winning couple
Billy Davis Jr. and Marilyn McCoo. Since that time he has
traveled the world using his gift to inspire people. Charles
unique gift is a heart of passion expressed through the War
Drum of Africa, as he allows the heart of his ancestors to
play through him to share HOPE with the world.
Charles'
musical travels have been inspired while working with such
great artists and song writers of Motown Records such as Chuck
Berry, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, and Tim Miner. With a diversity
of rhythms and sounds of jazz, gospel, and funk, his music
finds its way into the heart to strengthen HOPE.
Charles
lives with his wife Pam in Tyler, Texas. His gift is annointed,
entertaining, and unique to audiences of all ages while he
continues to travel around the globe bringing Drums of HOPE.
Other
artist and organizations that Charles has worked with over
the years are The Cruse Family, The Latinos, and Michael W.
Smith. Currently his percussion skills are supporting Karen
Wheaton, Morningstar Ministries and the Women's Aglow International
Conferences. Charles travels solo, or with his seven piece
band upon request.
